Steven L. Iriki

Steven Iriki has specialized in business litigation and construction law since 1989.  He has an active litigation practice focusing on disputes between businesses, real estate disputes, large & complex construction claims and defect matters.  Mr. Iriki has represented a wide variety of business clients, including small businesses and large, public corporations.  He has successfully tried numerous cases in U.S. District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and state court.  Mr. Iriki has also argued cases before the California Court of Appeals, U.S. Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and the 9^th Circuit Court of Appeals.  He is a member of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

A small sample of Mr. Iriki’s past work includes the following:

• Successfully defended a wrongful termination suit brought by a former employee of a sports memorabilia company in San Diego Superior Court.
• Successfully tried a contract dispute on behalf of a finance company in U.S. District Court; and
• Successfully tried a lease dispute on behalf of a commercial landlord in Los Angeles Superior Court.
• Successfully defended a subcontractor involving a defect claim in connection with a multi-story residence and elderly health care facility;
• Successfully represented a subcontractor that had a multi-million dollar delay claim in connection with a Southern California casino and hotel;
• Successfully defended a client involving widespread water intrusion issues at the Engineering Sciences Building at the U.C. Santa Barbara campus;

Mr. Iriki is a frequent speaker on business litigation and construction issues and has spoken before the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industry, the American Subcontractors Association, and Lorman Seminars.

Mr. Iriki received his Juris Doctorate degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California, Berkeley in 1989 and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985.
