Patricia A. Murphy

Patricia A. Murphy, Of Counsel, has represented a broad range of clients over the last 23 years, litigating employment, trade secret, fraud, contract, insurance coverage and other complex civil and criminal cases in federal and state courts. Ms. Murphy has litigated a full range of employment matters, including discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, fraud, defamation, privacy and wage and hour claims.  Ms. Murphy has represented and advised major clients, including national banks and national retailers, national and Bay Area technology companies, restaurant chains, manufacturing companies, nonprofit corporations and professional firms.  Her clients have included Wells Fargo Bank, Jamba Juice Company, Total Immersion Software, Inc., Resolution Trust Corporation, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Sharper Image.  Ms. Murphy also advises and represents employers and executives in connection with executive compensation agreements.

Ms. Murphy served as Corporate Counsel and General Counsel for a NASDAQ wireless technology company.

Ms. Murphy began her career at Steptoe & Johnson in Washington, D.C. and subsequently practiced at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP.  Ms. Murphy represented a high-profile defendant in the federal and state coordinated Technical Equities Corporation litigation.

Ms. Murphy is admitted to the State Bar of California, all federal districts in California, the Southern District of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Ms. Murphy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from American University in Washington, D.C. and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she was a member of the McAuliffe Honor Society.
